I have a really exciting announcement today that’s been brewing inside me for over a year…
In January, I asked you: What you would do with your life if you had more support?
My inbox filled with responses, as you shared your vulnerable dreams: “I would make art.” “I would leave my job and travel.” “I would risk everything for love.”
I’d clearly hit a nerve with this question—a collective nerve worn raw by a collective lack of support.
Many of you took me up on my offer of support, and my one-on-one empathy practice completely filled (you can still email me to get on my waiting list, or if you need a referral).
And yet, while weekly private professional support is invaluable for doing depth healing and attachment repair, it’s honestly not enough to fully meet your needs for empathy and support.
You need to be regularly heard, seen, and supported in order to risk the vulnerability of fulfilling your life’s purpose.
I dream of living in a world where everyone has regular support to fulfill their life’s purpose. Where we transform our worldwide empathy desert into a sea of compassion. Where we’re all able to drink our fill.
As part of that dream, I want to help you find mutual support and learning with people who share the values of compassion, needs-based empathy, and living nonviolence.
That’s how Gather Together was born.
Gather Together is an alternative, ongoing community that cultivates personal and collective healing through compassion and nonviolence.
Starting in Berkeley, CA, on September 2, in 4-week sessions, we’ll explore:
Cultivating Resilient Self-Compassion (September 2, 9, 16, 23)
Attuning with Empathy to Deepen Intimacy (September 30, October 7, 14, 21)
Building a Compassionate Support System (October 28, November 4, 11, 18)
Releasing “Shoulds” and Stepping into Full Choice (December 2, 9, 16, 30)
Infusing Your Life with Meaning and Purpose (January 6, 20, 27, February 3)
Making Powerful/Vulnerable Requests (February 10, 17, 24, March 2)
Each evening will include a brief teaching, small-group practice, and a facilitated group discussion. Between gatherings, you can connect with an optional practice partner and a private online community, as a way to build your own personalized support team over time.
As the months progress, you’ll connect with a community of people who have shared values and shared skills, who can truly support you in fulfilling your life’s meaning and purpose; in living your love to the fullest; in cultivating relationships rich with intimacy, passion, and respect; and in making a meaningful contribution to the world.
What would you do with your life if you had more community? Join me in September and find out. Learn more today!
Love and empathy,
Angela
P.S. If you’re not in the Bay Area, I’m developing a parallel online program—Gather Together Global—just for you! Launching in Spring 2016!
